Cedric Lee Airs Side of the Story: 'Vhong was Raping Deniece When I Arrived'

Businessman Cedric Lee, who was tagged by actor-host Vhong Navarro as among the men who beat him up at a condominium at the Bonifacio Global City last week, insisted that the “It’s Showtime” host had wanted to rape Deniece Cornejo.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Lee said they were supposed to pick up Cornejo late on January 22 when they heard her screaming inside her unit.

He said since her front door was unlocked, they went inside and Cornejo fighting off Navarro’s advances.

“Ang instinct ko I grabbed him from the back at hinila ko pababa ng kama. Si Deniece ay tumakbo sa sister ko at inilabnas na siya sa condo unit. Naiwan dun sa condo ako at ‘yung lalaki na di ko pa kilala ay si Vhong,” Lee recalled.

Lee said they wanted to bring Navarro to the police but the actor fought back. “Napilitan namin siyang suntukin at naupakan naming siya. Nagkabasag-basag ang mukha niya,” he said.

Lee also said Navarro later on admitted to them that he was forcing himself on Cornejo and pleaded to them not to take him to the police because it will damage his career.

In an interview on “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday, an emotional Navarro vehemently denied that he tried to rape Cornejo.

Talking to host Boy Abunda, Navarro said he and Cornjeo agreed to meet that night in her unit.

“Papunta ako sa sofa, bigla siyang (Cornejo) lumabas. Pagharap ko palabas na siya, may lumabas na lalaking nakatutok na sa akin na baril,” Navarro said.

“Tapos lumabas na si Cedric Lee. Una minumukhaan ko siya pero nagpakilala na rin siya sa akin. Ang ginawa niya tinali niya 'yung kamay ko, tinali niya 'yung paa ko. ‘Yung ulo ko nilagay nila sa sahig tapos pinagsasapak ako ni Cedric.

“Dalawa pa lang muna sila. Pinagsasapak ako. Tapos po nilalagyan ako ng busal sa bibig. Sabi nila, ‘Huwag ka sisigaw, kapag sumigaw ka papatayin ko pamilya mo, papatayin ko mga anak mo, papatayin kita.’”
