David Beckham to Swap Shirt with Phil Younghusband (Photos and Video)
David Beckham and Landon Donovan graced the press conference for “The Dream Cup: The Philippine Azkals vs. the L.A. Galaxy" at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel on Thursday.
Beckham thanked the Filipinos for giving him and his team LA Galaxy a warm welcome.
“Thank you for the welcome. Thank you for the kindness so far. We hope you enjoy the game,” the football superstar said.
Beckham's team mate, Landon Donovan, said he’s aware of the Philippine Azkals because a member of their staff is Pinay.
“I learned about the Azkals very, very quickly. One of the members of our staff back home is from here, she's a very lovely lady,” he said.
Meanwhile, Phil Younghusband, Chieffy Caligdong and some other members of the Philippine Azkals also graced the press conference.
“Papakitaan namin sila ng magandang laban sa Saturday,” said Azkals co-team captain Chieffy Caligdong.
After the presscon, Phil Younghusband tweeted that he asked Beckham that they can trade shirts after the game:
