The 28-year old Donaire has a record of 26 wins, 1 loss, and 18 knockouts. This is his second bout this year after knocking out Fernando Montiel in the second round of their February bout.
Omar Andres Narvaez of Cordoba Argentina, on the other hand, has a record of 35 wins, 0 loss, 2 draws, and 19 knockouts. He is the current WBO super flyweight champion and for the first time in his career will be fighting in North America.
The 36-year old Narvaez is 5-3 in height shorter by four inches against the “The Filipino Flash”. The Argentinian is not a power puncher and has gone the distance in his last five bouts.
Nonito Donaire Jr. is getting $725,000 guaranteed purse (excluding television rights royalties) for his title defense against Omar Narvaez on Sunday morning, October 23, 2011.
