El Gamma Penumbra Robbed of the PGT Title?
El Gamma Penumbra was the crowd favorite to win Pilipinas Got Talent season 3 last weekend because their performance showcased not just creativity but nationalism as well.
However during the results night last Sunday, El Gamma Penumbra did not even make it to the Top 3 while The Maasinhon Trio was declared the winner.
This prompted netizens to express their disappointment on the results via Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites.
Was El Gamma Penumbra robbed of the title?
ABS-CBN has released an official statement regarding this matter.
This is what they've sent via email yesterday:
“The winners of “Pilipinas Got Talent” are determined by the number of text and online votes that they receive during the grand finals. All 12 grand finalists are talented and deserving to win, but in the end, it was the Maasinhon Trio, who got the most votes from the viewing public followed by Khalil Ramos and the Bringas Brothers. ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ is a celebration of the many talents of Filipinos. The voting public has spoken and let us respect the decision of the viewers. We congratulate the winners and the other grand finalists.”

The issue should now be closed as the The Maasinhon Trio won fair and square because they received the most number of votes, right? And that's the rule of the "Got Talent" franchise, the majority will decide for the winner.
