Cebu Massacre Survivor Learns Death of Her Whole Family Through Facebook
The Cebu massacre last Sunday has 1 survivor - the 14-year-old Embrelaince Ponce.
She learned that her mother, two sisters and 1 brother were killed by her father through Facebook.
Last weekend, his father Emmanuel had told her to leave the house and fetch the police. She obeyed the command of her father not knowing that he had gone on a shooting rampage in their house in Palm View Village, Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City killing her mom, Melinda (53), sisters Elaine Grace (26), and Heather Joy (24), and brother Emlin Bridge (18).
The father then shot himself.
Relatives of Embrelaince prevented her from returning to the house and had her stay in a room.
There were a computed and an internet connection in the room so the girl decided to check her Facebook account to get her mind off her ordeal.
Minutes later, Enbrelaince’s relatives heard her screaming. The 14-year-old survivor had learned through the Facebook status of her friends that her mother, father, two sisters, brother, and the house helper were all dead.
Her aunt told her the story afterwards.
The girl was in a state of shock but had calmed down on Tuesday. She plans to continue her life in Bicol with her mother's family after the burial.
