Sinag Pilipinas and Perlas Pilipinas Strengthen PHL's SEA Games Campaign
Sinag Pilipinas and their female counterpart, Perlas Pilipinas, brought victories in basketball on Monday alongside golds from bridge, wrestling, billiards and wall climbing.
Sinag Pilipinas demolished the team from Cambodia while Perlas Pilipinas defeated defending champion, Malaysia, in their route to win the two gold medals in basketball for the country.
Meanwhile, Team Philippines now has 8 golds in the ongoing 26th Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia as of 9:00 a.m. of November 15, 2011.
The country's 8 golds came from Taekwondo (2 golds), Athletics (2 golds), Billiards and Snookers (1 gold), Bridge (1 gold), Wrestling (1 gold) and wall climbing (1 gold).
However, Philippines is still on the middle of the leaderboard placing 6th place, behind host country Indonesia which now has 96 golds, and other neighboring countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.
