Thia Megia and Maria Aragon to Sing Anthems in Pacquiao-Marquez Bout
Thia Megia, American Idol season 10 finalist, and YouTube sensation from Canada Maria Aragon, were both chosen to sing in Manny Pacquiao’s fight against Juan Miguel Marquez on November 12 in Las Vegas.
But which anthem are they going to sing?
According to reports, the Filipino-Canadian Maria Aragon will be singing "Lupang Hinirang" which is the Philippine National Anthem. Filipino-American Thia Megia, on the other hand, will be singing the “Star Spangled Banner” or the national anthem of USA.
Maria Aragon was recently in the Philippines to record her debut album from Star Records. While she's in the country for some guesting stints promoting her album, she also took the time to visit the National Historical Institute (NHI) to learn the right way of singing the Philippine National Anthem before she went back to her hometown in Canada.
Thia Megia, on the other hand, is currently here in Manila for the American Idol Live Tour concert together with her American Idol season 10 finalists. They had a successful stint last night at Smart Araneta and it was extended for one more concert tonight.
