American Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez sang the US National Anthem at the PBS National Memorial Day Concert 2012 on the west lawn of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
Singing the Star-Spangled Banner in front of thousands during the National Memorial Day concert on Sunday, May 27, is Jessica's first public performance after American Idol.
The concert honors American fallen soldiers, service men and women and their families. Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna served as hosts.
Aside from Jessica, whose father by the way is a US Navy veteran, other AI non-winners who also performed at the concert were Chris Daughtry and Pia Toscano.
