Jake, Bangs, and Shaina, Thank OFWs for Their Drama Series
Hundreds of overseas Filipino workers were touched by the timely story of the first “OFW-serye” of ABS-CBN titled “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” which was shown in special screenings held in various parts of the Middle East including the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Doha, Qatar.
Lead stars Jake Cuenca, Bangs Garcia, and Shaina Magdayao, together with the series’ co-director, Lino Cayetano, personally joined the Filipinos in the Middle East who witnessed the first few episodes “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo.”
The cast expressed their gratitude to the OFws who served as the main inspiration of their drama series. “We made this especially for you, so we hope that you will like it,” said Jake to the OFWs who went to the special screening hosted by The Filipino Channel (TFC). “We want to show, especially to the viewers in the Philippines, the real story of hardship and sacrifices of people working abroad.”
After the screening, a mix of emotions from the audience members filled the venues; most of them cried and missed their loved ones because of the realistic portrayal of the life of OFWs in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the plot thickens in “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” as Paul (Jake) and Sarah (Shaina) start their married life. Now that they have decided to live with Paul’s family, the strength of love will be put to test with the meddling of Remedios (Gloria Diaz) in their relationship. Unlike other wives who remain meek despite the harshness of their mothers-in-law, Sarah knew how to protect herself. With her wife and her mother’s clash, whose side will Paul be on?
Together with Jake, Bangs, and Shaina in “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo” are Gloria Diaz, Sandy Andolong, Maria Isabel Lopez, Ronnie Lazaro, Dick Ysrael, Nikki Valdez, Jojit Lorenzo, Ron Morales, and David Chua. It is directed by Manny Palo and Lino Cayetano.
Don’t miss the country's first ever "OFW-serye," “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” after “Mundo Man ay Magunaw” in ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold. For more updates log on to www.abs-cbn.com or follow @abscbndotcom on Twitter.
