Despite the rigid training schedule that he needs for his upcoming fight with Puerto Rican boxer Manuel Cotto on November 15, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao still took time to relax and even visited Jimmy Kimmel for a sit-down interview.

Pacman talked about his passions, he dished about his boxing and acting career, and he even performed a song for the audience, singing the ballad "Sometimes When We Touch".

RP gets top marks on climate change in Bonn

The Philippines received top marks from the United Kingdom-based environmental non-government organization Friends of the Earth International for boldly calling on rich industrialized countries to set higher greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.

The NGO honored the country at the recently-concluded climate change negotiations in Bonn, Germany.

In a witty attempt to portray the recent climate talks as a classroom session with nations as pupils, the youth component of Friends of the Earth International published a “School Report on Leadership” which assessed performance of participating countries in this critical event leading to the key climate change conference in Copenhagen this December.

Alongside India and the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), the Philippines ranked first in a list of 11 “pupils” or participating countries and named in the report as an “excellent math student” who, throughout the duration of the talks, gave “guidance to failing classmates that only higher reduction targets for rich industrialized nations will keep us below a 1.5ºC increase.”

The Philippines’ success in the international climate change talks comes at the heels of the successful two-day High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change in Asia Pacific organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), attended by top environment stakeholders and keynoted by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

There's something about the singing of Philippine National Anthem before the boxing match of our Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao that brings out the nationalistic spirit of every Pinoy. Charice to Perform in Oscars Afterparty

Charice is set to add another milestone in her career after she has been scheduled to perform at an afterparty of the prestigious Oscar Awards night in Hollywood. She has also been recognized as one of the “"shining stars of 2009" alongside George Clooney and Kate Winslet. After its limited screening in the US, Brillante Mendoza's Cannes entry "Serbis" received rave reviews from various critics. According to TimeOutNewYork.com, Serbis is the Philippine counterpart of Oscar Best Picture nominee Slumdog Millionaire for depicting poverty in a third world country. Furthermoere, Serbis got an 86% fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes.

Our very own Brillante Mendoza is nominated for Best Director for his Cannes' entry "Serbis." Jaclyn Jose and Gina Pareno, on the other hand, are nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category.
