Apple Announcement: iOS 6, MacBook Pro and Air

Apple announcement: New Apple MacBook Pro and Air and the world's most advanced mobile software, the iOS 6!

The Apple announcement in the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco on Monday, June 11, is highly anticipated by gadget aficionados in America, ABC News reported.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to preview the new iPhone software: the iOS 6, dubbed as the world's most advanced mobile operating system, and the new Apple MacBook Pro and Air laptops, when he kicks off the company’s annual conference for software developers on Monday.

It's been a tradition that Apple makes their major announcement in the annual Worldwide Developers Conference and this year, Cook is expected tor reveal the new features the iOS 6 has to offer, why it's called the world's most advanced mobile software, and when will it become available to consumers.

It can be recalled that in 2010, Apple demonstrated the new iPhone 4 at the WWDC, but this year, the spotlight is on the iOS 6 software.

Last year, when the iOS 5 was introduced, "Siri" became an instant sensation. Believed to be another edge the Apple has from other smart phones, the virtual assistant that interprets voice commands and talks back to the user was a huge hit.

In the iOS 6, Apple is adding new features that many watchers find exciting. If Twitter integration was a highlight of iOS 5, many believes the iOS 6 will have an emphasis on Facebook and could make it easier to post Facebook status updates from within Apple’s apps.

But Cook isn't only talking iProducts. He is also expected to focus on Apple's laptops and desktops and "Mountain Lion," Apple's next version of its Mac operating system which is expected to go on sale this summer. Along with a preview of the new software, Apple is heavily rumored to release new MacBook Pros and Airs with brand new high-resolution Retina Displays. ABC News previously reported that the MacBook Pros will have Nvidia graphics and Intel's new Ivy Bridge processors.

The "Mountain Lion’s" main competition will be Microsoft's Windows 8.

Cook is also expected to announce new Mac models. Intel Corp. has just updated its processor line with faster, less power-hungry chips, and most of Apple’s Mac lines haven’t had a major update in a year.

Another speculation about the apple announcement is that the company could launch a full-blown TV set integrated with iTunes. Late company founder Steve Jobs hinted biographer Walter Isaacson that he wanted to remake the TV. Apple does sell an ‘‘Apple TV,’’ but it’s small box that connects to a TV to display movies from iTunes. There’s much speculation that Apple plans to make a full-blown TV set, integrated with iTunes.

Few company watchers expect Apple to reveal such a set at WWDC, but there’s broad speculation that it could make a minor step toward Jobs’ goal by releasing updated software for the Apple TV, expanding on its relatively limited functions.

Identical Triplets Born in Pennsylvania

Identical triplets were born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on June 5, 2012.

Identical triplets are so rare that according to reports, it only happens once in 500,000 pregnancies.

But Last June 5 at Portland's Randall Children Hospital, Jessica Beasly gave birth to three identical boys, one minute apart.

Named Daniel Jeffrey, Ryder James and Garrett Cambell, the identical triplets arrived more than three months before they're supposed to be born.

“It’s one day at a time. You don’t know what to expect but right now everything is good,” said their smiling Mom Jessica.

“We’re watching their breathing and making sure that their airways stay open,” explained NICU nurse Larissa Raze.

The Beasly triplets have two siblings, Zachary who is only 2 years old and Sophia, 4.

The triplets are still inside a preemie crib that delivers a womb like atmosphere with heat and humidity and are only opened for check ups and diaper changes every four hours.

“I have gotten to take their temperature and change a few diapers,” said Jessica.

The triplets will spend 6 to 12 weeks at Randall Children’s Hospital. Then Jessica and her husband Eric are ready to raise 5 children under the age of 5.

NASA new discovery: Arctic Rainforest Flourishing (Video)

NASA new discovery: Arctic Rainforest Flourishing (Video)

NASA new discovery: Phytoplankton blooms flourishing under thick layers of Arctic ice were discovered by researchers, Universe Today reported on Thursday.

NASA scientists compare the new discovery to a rainforest in the middle of the dessert, upending preconceptions about Artic ecosystems. At first look, the Artic is perceived to consist barren ice all over and nothing else. But after the unexpected find, all preconceptions about the Artic were shattered as it can host huge bright green blooms of microscopic plantlike organisms underneath it suggesting that the Arctic Ocean is far more productive than previously thought.

Kevin Arrigo, the leader of the ICESCAPE mission, said their expedition was a complete surprise.

“If someone had asked me before the expedition whether we would see under-ice blooms, I would have told them it was impossible,” he said.

ICESCAPE stands for Impacts of Climate on EcoSystems and Chemistry of the Arctic Pacific Environment. In 2010 and 2011, this group of scientists explored Arctic waters in the Beaufort and Chukchi seas along Alaska’s western and northern coasts onboard a U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker. The researchers drilled down through three-foot thick sea ice to study impacts of environmental variability and change in the Arctic on the ocean biology, ecology and biogeochemistry.

And according to their latest discovery, Phytoplankton blooms spring up in the Arctic during the summer, when the sun is constantly above the horizon. The group is assuming that the growth and amount of phytoplankton was negligible in waters beneath the ice there, although there were hints of phytoplankton blooms under the ice in the Barents and Beaufort seas and the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.

As it turns out, phytoplankton not only flourishes under thick layers of ice, but grows in numbers about four times higher under the ice than in the open water.

"The idea that phytoplankton can not only bloom under 3-foot-thick ice but that they can reach numbers that put their open-water counterparts to shame was a complete surprise," Arrigo told OurAmazingPlanet. "It means we have to rethink many of our ideas about how the Arctic Ocean ecosystems function."

Stealth Destroyer: A Super Battleship, US Navy's Answer to Rising China

Stealth Destroyer is a $3.1 billion super warship by the US Navy that is believed to be America's answer to China.

With the rising power of the Chinese military, the US Navy has unleashed a super warship called Stealth Destroyer, we've thought only exists in sci-fi movies.

The Stealth Destroyer has the ability to sneak up on coastlines virtually undetected and pound targets with electromagnetic "railguns," which uses a magnetic field and electric current to fire a projectile at several times the speed of sound.

The first of new warships to be delivered in 2014, the Stealth Destroyer costs more than $3 billion and boasts of the most advanced destroyer in history: a silver bullet of stealth. The Pentagon believes this warship is a perfect fit for Asia and the Pacific, the most strategically important region in the world.

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert said the Stealth Destroyer is the future of the US Navy.

"With its stealth, incredibly capable sonar system, strike capability and lower manning requirements — this is our future," he said.

Despite its sky-high cost, the Navy claims the Stealth Destroyer is money well spent. The rise of China has been cited as the best reason for keeping the revolutionary ship afloat, although the specifics of where it will be deployed have yet to be announced. Navy officials also say the technologies developed for the ship will inevitably be used in other vessels in the decades ahead.

However, with the destroyer's $3.1 billion price tag, the Navy's target of 32 warships was cut to 24, then seven.

The Real Housewives Of New York City Revamps Cast-Members for Season 5

The Real Housewives Of New York City season 5 is set to premiere on June 4, Monday night, featuring new cast-members!

The Real Housewives of New York City is an American reality television program on the Bravo cable TV network, a spin-off of the Bravo series The Real Housewives of Orange County. New York is the second city featured in The Real Housewives franchise. While in production for Season 1, the show was tentatively titled Manhattan Moms.

Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon and Cindy Barshop would not be returning for season 5 which is expected to air June 4, 2012 at 9/8c with new cast members Heather Thomson, Carole Radziwill and Aviva Drescher taking their places.

In the season five premiere titled "A New New York," Sonja kicks things off with a party to mingle with Aviva, Carole and Heather. They all seem to hit it off… until Ramona arrives. And as they say, with new friends come new revelations: in this case, Aviva learns that a couple of her “new” friends have had relations with her ex-husband. Meanwhile, Heather and Carole try to figure out who to trust and not. Picking up right where they left off, LuAnn is still annoyed with Ramona about the disparaging comments she made last season about LuAnn’s parenting. Things get interesting as Sonja, Ramona, Heather, and Aviva head to the Hamptons for the weekend and once back in the city, LuAnn surprises the new ladies with a shocking story. The three new women agree to never become “mean girls.”
