Philippine Volcanoes Enters Asia's Top 5
Historic win at HSBC Asian 5 Nations Division 1 Championships catapulted the Philippine Volcanoes to Asia's Top 5.
The Philippine Volcanoes defeated team Sri Lanka during the Asian Rugby eliminations Saturday night, April 22, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. The historic 28-18 win put the Philippines in the rugby map.
The Sri Lankan team was once ranked 49th in the world and had been competing in the past Asian 5 Nations Championship.
They are now in 56th place and failing to qualify for next year's Asian5 is a disappointment to the Sri Lankan president, whose 2 sons are members of the national team.
