Carla Abellana Reportedly Transferring to ABS-CBN
Carla Abellana, one of GMA-7's brightest home-grown talent, is about to sign a contract with ABS-CBN.
According to a report by the Manila Bulletin in their entertainment section on Friday, what makes Carla Abellana and her manager Arnold Vegafria decide to accept the offer of ABS-CBN is the Kapuso network’s priorities when it comes to giving projects to its talents.
A reliable source told the broadsheet that the network's priorities in their roster of female talents are Marian Rivera, Barbie Forteza and Bea Binene, in that order.
However, Carla hasn't inked the deal yet so her mother studio can still make a counter-offer.
Carla Abellana catapulted to fame when GMA-7 gave her the role of "Rosalinda" in 2009, her very first TV project and a title role at that, making her one of the fastest-rising stars that year. She actually auditioned to become Richard Gutierrez' leading lady in Zorro but instead, the network gave her "Rosalinda."
Her other projects after "Rosalinda" were "The Last Prince," "Basahang Gito," "Ilumina," "Magic Palayok," "Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin," mainstay on "SOP Rules" now "Party Pilipinas," SRO Cinemaserye and some co-hosting stints in "StarStruck" and "Bb. Pilipinas."
Carla also starred in the movies Mamarazzi, Shake, Rattle & Roll XII, My Neighbor's Wife, and the 2011 MMFF entries Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story and Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.
Her contract with the Kapuso network is about to expire this month.
Other Kapuso stars who transferred to the Kapamilya network earlier this year were Carmina Villaroel, Patrick Garcia and Iza Calzado. And perhaps Carla is the next one?
