Karlo Maquinto Dies of Hematoma after Boxing Bout
Karlo Maguinto, a rising boxer, was declared brain-dead after sustaining subdural hematoma caused by his undercard bout with another pinoy boxer.
The 21-year-old Maquinto died at exactly 10:15 on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the FEU-NRMF Medical Center in West Fairview, Quezon City, where he was rushed after the bout. He had a professional record of 8 wins, 0 lose and 1 draw.
According to reports, Maguinto lost consciousness right after the announcement of a majority draw decision result of the undercard bout as part of Dodie Boy Penalosa, Jr.’s "Dugong Kampeon" versus Thailand's Superjames Singmanasak.
