PHL's Teresita Sy-Coson Makes It to Fortune's List of 50 Most Powerful Women in the World






One Filipina made it to the global list of Fortune Magazine's 50 Most Powerful Women for 2010.

Teresita Sy-Coson is the daughter of Henry Sy, the richest man in the Philippines, who is the owner of SM Investments Corporation.

The editors of Fortune Magazine ranked her at no. 42 in the elite list of most powerful women in the world for 2010. She's one of 17 asian women in the list and the only Filipina in the Top 50.

Topping this year's 50 Most Powerful Women in the world is the CEO of Anglo American--Cynthia Caroll--from Great Britain. No. 2 is Australia's Gail Kelly who is the managing director and CEO of Westpac. In 3rd position is Marjorie Scardino, the CEO of Pearson, again from Great Britain.

Pepsi Co.'s Indra Nooyi, on the other hand, topped the Most Powerful Women list in the US with Oprah Winfrey settling at no. 6.
