Pacquiao Beats Margarito, Wins 8th World Crown
The world's best boxer just added another feather to his cap--the WBC Super Welterweight belt--his eight world title!
Fighter of the Decade Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao dominated the fight and nailed a unanimous decision against Antonio "Tijuana Tornado" Margarito to win the World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Welterweight title, his 8th world crown, on Saturday night, November 13, in Texas, USA (Sunday morning, November 14, in Manila).
The fight went to a full 12 rounds, with Pacquiao in control from beginning to end. The scores were 120-108, 118-110 and 119-109 in favor of our Pambansang Kamao.
Aside from winning the WBC super welterweight crown over Margarito, Pacquiao also held 7 world titles in 7 weight classes:
· WBC flyweight title
· International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior bantamweight title
· Linear featherweight title
· WBC junior lightweight title
· WBC lightweight title
· International Boxing Organization (IBO) junior welterweight title
· World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title
Pacquiao now has 52 wins (with 38 KOs), 3 losses and 2 draws.
