Dr. Conrad Murray Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter in Drug Overdose Death of Michael Jackson
Dr. Conrad Murray was remanded in police custody today after being found guilty for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson.
The twelve jurors for the case have finally reached their verdict on Monday, November 7, after deliberating for two days. Their decision is to convict Dr. Conrad Murray of being negligent in his use of the surgical anesthetic Propofol which contributed/resulted to death of Michael's death on June 25, 2009 via drug overdose.
Here is the joint statement released by Michael Jackson's parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson, about the conviction:
"We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn’t hold back tears of joy in the courtroom. Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served!"
"We can’t wait to go home and share this day with Michael’s children.”
Dr. Conrad Murray is facing a sentence on November 29, 2011, ranging from probation to a maximum of four years in prison.
