Korina Sanchez Opposes Anderson Cooper's Reports on Typhoon YolandaAftermath
Whether it was in defense of her husband Sec. Mar Roxas or just what she thinks a ‘journalist’s responsibility,’ we don’t know, but ABS-CBN news anchor Korina Sanchez did not hesitate commenting on CNN’s Anderson Cooper’s way of reporting about Typhoon Yolanda’s aftermath on Wednesday, November 13.
Doing a live report with Tacloban airport as the background, Cooper said, “No real evidence of organized relief and rescue operation around Tacloban. I haven’t seen much of a relief effort, I haven’t seen a large military presence.”
One remark which irked Sanchez, lovey-dovey of Roxas, secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) unit tasked to lead the “search, rescue and relief operations on the ground.”
“Itong si Anderson Cooper, sabi wala daw gov’t presence sa Tacloban. Mukhang hindi niya alam ang sinasabi niya,” Sanchez was quoted as saying over her morning radio program on DZMM.
One comment that made the netizens explode. Korina has become and instant talk of the town, online and offline.
