Gil Wagas Bags Fourth Runner-Up Honors in Mr. International 2013

Gil Wagas made PH pageant history as he became the first Filipino to place in the Mister International pageant. The 6-foot-3 tall Lapu-Lapu City native was named 4th runner-up during the pageant's final on Thursday, November 21, in Skenoo Hall, Gandaria City Mall, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Gil Wagas is an early favorite not only among Filipino netizens who voted for him for the fan vote award which secured him a spot in the Top 16 (just like what happened to Ariella Arida in Miss Universe 2013) but he was also a crowd favorite among the locals during the preliminaries.

In the 8-year history of the pageant, this is the first time that a Filipino contestant was able to penetrate the Top 5, or for this year's case, the Top 6. The title, however, went to Mister Venezuela José Anmer Paredes.
