Palawan Island Town Tops '35 Clearest Waters In The World' List




THERE IS NO need to go out of the country if you’re looking for a clear water to swim in. Linapacan Island in Palawan is number one in the list of ’35 Clearest Waters In The World To Swim In Before You Die’ released by a web magazine, dailynewsdig.com.

Linapacan is an island town in northern Palawan with a population of only 14,180 people, as per the 2010 Census of Population. Considered as a fifth-class municipality, residents of the town are mostly fishers.

Though Linapacan is just a few kilometers away from my town of birth, Taytay, I’ve never been to Linapacan. But for a Palaweño who only hear El Nido and Coron as destinations to go to in the province, the inclusion of Linapacan in this list is actually an awesome news. We could only hope the local government units could do something about it to promote the place as a tourist destination as well.

The main entry point to Palawan, Puerto Princesa City, is now becoming too crowded to be the main attraction in the province who boasts tourism as its main source of income.
