Leyte Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Monday, September 30, filed a resolution seeking to honor Young for being the first Filipina to be crowned Miss World in the beauty pageant's 63 years history:

“Now therefore, be it resolved as it is hereby resolved that the House of Representatives give commendation and honor to the newly crowned and the country’s first-ever Miss World’ titlist after sixty-three years, to Miss Megan Lynne Young.”

Part of the resolution is a homecoming "ticker tape" parade that has been scheduled for Young this Friday afternoon, October 11, and it will be held on Ayala Avenue in the business district of Makati City.

Miss World Philippines director Cory Quirino mentioned in an interview that the victory motorcade being prepared to honor Young will be similar to the ones accorded to Gloria Diaz in 1969 when the latter became the first Filipina to bag the Miss Universe crown; and Gemma Cruz in 1964 when she became the first Filipina to win Miss International.

The 23-year-old host/actress was named the first Miss World title holder from the Philippines during the pageant's 63rd final night in Bali, Indonesia on September 28, beating 126 candidates from all over the world.
