Manny Pacquiao is Sports Illustrated’s Top Boxing Story of 2010

Sports Illustrated Magazine labeled 2010 in the world of boxing as the Year of Manny Pacquiao.

Sports Illustrated, known as the mother of every sports magazines, hailed our very own Manny Pacquiao and his bouts against Joshua Clottey in March and Antonio Margarito in November as as the No. 1 boxing story for 2010.

The 32-year-old Filipino champion was cited for his incredible feats for the year that’s about to end not only in boxing but also in politics when he won Congressman in the lone district of his home province, Sarangani.

However, Pacquiao only ranked 17th in the magazine’s top male athletes of the decade, Tiger Woods of golf, Roger Federer of tennis and Michael Phelps of swimming occupying the top 3 positions.

Are the 8 world titles and the tag as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world not yet enough for Sports Illustrated to include Pacquiao in their Top 10?
