2 Pinays Win Silver and Bronze in Penang Shanghai World Star Quest
2 pinays brought honor to the country by winning 2nd and 3rd place in the recently concluded 10th Penang Shanghai World Star Search.
More than 30 singers from 14 countries have competed to be the next ‘world star’ at Penang’s Auto-City in Juru last Friday and Saturday (25-26 April 2008) in Malaysia. The 10th Shanghai Asia Music Festival, now renamed Penang-Shanghai World Star Quest 2008 has been staged for the first time outside Shanghai, China. Shanghai Asia Music Festival 2003 Gold winner Misha Omar and Malaysian Idol 2005 winner Daniel Lee were there for special appearances.
Casper from the Philippines won silver and Cheenie from the Philippines (again) won the bronze. The intriguing part, host contestant Shila representing Malaysia won the gold.
