Thia Megia, the newest Pinay on American Idol
There's a new Pinay on American Idol and there are rumors that she made it to season 10's Top 20.
Last July 2009, we featured Thia Megia's stint on America's Got Talent season 4 where she emerged as a quarterfinalist.
Thialorei Lising "Thia" Megia, 15 years old, is now competing in American Idol Season 10 and there are rumors that she made it to the Top 20.
According to some reports, the American Idol Season 10 Top 20 have not been chosen yet. The top 40, (Thia's name is included in the unofficial list), allegedly went to Los Angeles for the “Sing For Your Life" round where 20 will be eliminated. However, no cuts were made and to avoid spoilers, the Top 20 will be announced in mid February.
Speculations that Thia Megia made it to the Top 20 started when Star World airs an ad featuring her and saying her name.
To hype the speculations even more, Tim Yap announced on his Showbiz talk show Tweetbiz last Tuesday night that Thia made it to the Top 10.
On the other hand, website Vote for the Worst picked Thia as their early bet for the worst contestant on American Idol season 10. They based their pick on Thia's rendition of the Miley Cyrus balled "The Climb" during the quarterfinals of America's Got Talent.
We will soon find out if Thia did make it on American Idol as the 10th season premieres tonight on QTV-11 and Star World.
