'100,' 'Andong' win in 13th Pusan International Film Festival
2008 Cinemalaya entries "100" and "Andong" brought home awards from the 13th Pusan International Film Festival.
The awards night took place last Friday night, October 10, where the dramedy "100" starring Mylene Dizon, Eugene Domingo and Tessie Tomas bagged the KNN Audience Choice Award. The short film "Andong", on the other hand, won the Sonje Award tied with the Korean short film "Girl."
Directed by Chris Martinez, the tickets to "100" was sold out in Pusan. Martinez also won a cash prize of $20,000 that is sponsored by Korea's KNN TV network.
"Andong" director Milo Tolentino brought home a cash prize of $10,000.
The nine-day International Film Festival in Korea screened 315 movies from 60 countries, with 85 world premieres and 95 Asian premieres. Fourteen films, including the film 100, competed in the New Currents section.
