Our very own Ramiele Malubay hit homerun as she received high compliments from the judges on tonight's American Idol Top 12 girls performance show. She sang “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me” by Dusty Springfields.

Randy Jackson said, “Very classy, almost like a pro.” Paula Abdul said, “You’re a force to be reckoned with.” Simon Cowell said, “Tonight, you out sung every single person.”

It’s Isabel Granada’s turn to dream Hollywood, especially now that she’s starring in a Bollywood movie intended for the international market. The title of the movie is "Pirate's Blood" and it's being shot in Oman, Jordan.

Pinoy ‘Queen’ Film Wins in Berlinale

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “The Amazing Truth About Queen Raquela,” described by Variety as “about a Filipino lady-boy prostitute who fancies herself the true queen of France,” for winning the best feature Teddy at the Berlinale’s Teddy Queer Film Awards last Thursday, February 14, 2008.

Raquela Rios stars as herself in the feature co-produced by Arleen Cuevas and directed by Olaf de Fleur Johannesson.

Tirador Wins Calgari Film Prize

Brillante “Dante” Mendoza’s “Tirador” (“Slingshot”), bagged the Calgari Film prize, given by an association of theater owners and film distributors in Germany, at the recently concluded Berlinale International Film Festival.

“Tirador,” which competed in the Forum Section, also won a cash prize of 4,000 euros (P238,000), half of which is earmarked for the film’s distribution in Germany.

Ramiele is the fifth pinoy to make it to the final cut after Jasmine Trias and Camile Velasco in season 3, Jose Penala in season 5 and AJ Tabaldo in season 6.

He replaces Jeff Scott Soto, who parted ways with the band earlier this year after stepping in for Steve Augeri, who had to leave the band in 2006 for medical reasons.

WCOPA Team Philippines Auditions

The 2008 World Championships of Performing Arts - Team Philippines will hold initial auditions on February 9 at 10 a.m. at Stages, Unit 606 Greenbelt Mansion, Perea Street, Legazpi Village, Makati City. Singers (solo or group), intrumentalists (solo or group), dancers (solo or group), actors, and models may try out for a chance to represent the country in the prestigious "Talent Olympics."

RP Wins 7 Medals in New York Festival Courtesy of GMA and ABS-CBN

GMA 7 and ABS-CBN brought honor to the country by winning 7 medals in the recently concluded New York Festivals for Television Broadcasting. The Kapuso channel won 6 medals (including the music video directed by Louie Ignacio) and 9 finalist certificates while the Kapamilya channel won 1 medal and 3 finalist certificates.
