Rivermaya is the only OPM band to have performed on MTV Asia Awards. Their no. 1 hit "You'll Be Safe Here" and their remake of "Bali Song" were chosen as the first Asian artists to have full-length music videos featured on the Star World Channel. "You'll Be Safe Here" was also selected as the theme for Star World's regional news show "Star News Asia". The song was also a hit in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.
