Smart Gilas Pilipinas Loses to Iran, Vies for 3rd Place with Taiwan

Smart Gilas Pilipinas came short of making it to the championship game of the Jones Cup 2011 as two time defending champion Iran defeated the national team, 78-59 during the semifinals at the Hsinjhuang Stadium in Chinese Taipei Saturday night.

Gilas will face Chinese-Taipei for 3rd place today, August 13, while Iran will battle South Korea for the championship.
