2010 MMFF to Showcase 5 Indie Films
For the first time in the 36 years of the annual and much-anticipated filmfest, 5 indie films be highlighted in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
According to Atty. Francis Tolentino, the chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) which organizes the annual MMFF, five independent films will be shown in selected theaters from Dec. 16 to 21, a week before the actual film festival when 8 mainstream entries are scheduled to open on Christmas Day.
This move will surely help the growing industry of independent films in the country, some of which brought home honors from various international film festival abroad.
The 5 Indie Films to be screened as part of the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival are as follows:
SLOW FADE - Starring Diether Ocampo, Precious Lara Quigaman, Archie Adamos, Jaime Fabregas, Alchris Galura, Mosang, Alwyn Uytingco, Fonz Deza, Lui Manansala, Abel Napuran, Richard Manabat, Irene Tan-Gurango and German Moreno; Directed by: Rommel Sales (CLICK HERE TO WATCH TRAILER).

For the first time in history, Bayaning Pilipino Awards gives every Filipino the chance to elect their hero of choice in the individual category through the Cobra Bayaning Pilipino People’s Choice Award. The finalist with the most votes received through text, online, and via wireless audience response system or WARS takes home the trophy.
